Jimmy Miao Zhang

Jimmy (Miao Zhang) is a researcher, architect, and urban designer working at the intersection of machine learning and architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC).

As co-founder of Commons Office, a research-driven design practice, Jimmy embraces a trans-scalar and interdisciplinary approach spanning artificial intelligence, architecture, urbanism, engineering, and construction. The practice understands design as a form of collective social agency that empowers the commons and advances the common good through critical inquiry, stakeholder collaboration, and the application of advanced computational methods.

Jimmy is currently pursuing a PhD in Computational Science and Engineering at Georgia Tech. He holds a Master in Architecture in Urban Design (MAUD) from Harvard University and a Bachelor of Architecture from Inner Mongolia University of Technology.
